Product management as a practice is quite broad, especially when it comes to software and technology solutions. While different companies practice product management in different ways, typically product management can be classified into two categories:
· Non-Technical or Business Product Management
· Technical Product Management.
The two categories are distinctly different from each other, in that one is focused on the more strategic direction of product, while the other is focused on technical product development and maintenance.
Having worked on both sides of the spectrum, I have been able to closely look at both the categories. Based on my experience, I have made these two product management workflows. These workflows go into details of different stages in the product development process and activities under the different stages.
