For my first entry I decided to talk about one of my favorite games at the moment, Overwatch. Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer first person shooter that was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and released on May 24th, 2016. I’ve been playing Blizzard games such as World of Warcraft and Diablo since I was young, so I knew I was going to love Overwatch as well. I got addicted to playing overwatch very quickly. Right off the bat there was so much to do and so many different characters and maps to try out.

The character design is one of my favorite parts of the game because it is creative and has a unique art style. There are currently 28 team members and I just love how each team member has their own individual style and personality. I also love how each character has their own origin story too that explains how they started out and what led them to join the Overwatch team. Each map in the game also correlates with each character’s background story which adds a layer of narrative depth to a strategic game.

During the week I normally switch between many different games but for the sake of this entry I decided to only play Overwatch, so I could really pay attention to the fine details of the game mechanics. Each hero is designed to cater to a wide variety of people who play different FPS games. For example, Soldier 76 is a character that is good for people who enjoy more modern FPS games like Call of Duty, Farrah is a good character to play for people who are into old fashioned FPS like Unreal Tournament. Tanks like Road Hog, Diva and Hammond are perfect characters for people who are into games like Mech Warrior.
